Mal Walden: Angry parents have won a glimmer of hope over Bayside Council plans to close its Childcare Centres. They’ve rallied to oppose the closure of the not-for-profit Day-Cares in Hampton and Sandringham.
Claire Mumme: This situation wouldn’t be accepted for any other form of education… so why is that different for Childcare?
Mal Walden: The council claims that new Federal laws make the centres too expensive, but has now agreed to meet with the parents and consider the option of community-run Childcare.
